Sunday I ate

Breakfast: Yogurt + granola
Lunch: half a pork chili verde burrito from Casa Latina Bakery
Afternoon snack: iced tea. Ghirardelli chocolate square while on boat ride
Dinner: In Sacramento, stopped by The Old Spaghetti Factory for some take out. They still have the best thousand island dressing. And their fresh baked bread is pretty awesome. Plus the spaghetti with meat sauce.
Dessert: Fudge. Tessa and I have been experimenting and it wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty good. Had to re-melt it this morning and then we over-beat it. But the flavor was great.

Friday I ate

Breakfast: Skipped
Lunch: Chicken sandwich on a TJ’s brioche roll
Afternoon snack: Half-christmas cookies. Iced tea
Dinner: Went to KFC. Tessa has been really intrigued since we ate it once in an airport in Italy. Honestly, pretty good. I might prefer Church’s, but have to try them closer together than a couple of years. You sure get a lot of food for $30… two buckets of chicken, way more mashed potatoes than we needed, plus biscuits.
Dessert: None needed

Saturday I ate

Breakfast: Pancake Emporium was open for business! Tessa and I made our special pancakes with maple syrup
Lunch: Amazing use for leftover KFC: chop up the tenders into a fried chicken sandwich
Afternoon snack: Iced tea. Plus licked the bowl while making fudge
Dinner: Homemade dumplings. Rice. Edemame
Dessert: Blueberry pie with ice cream. Some of the fudge we made this afternoon (using the recipe from an old metal Hershey’s can)… but it was not totally set and kind of grainy

Wednesday I ate

Breakfast: Yogurt with granola
Lunch: Leftover Zachary’s pizza
Afternoon snack: Iced tea. TJ’s peppermints
Dinner: Leftover enchiladas. Experimented with our own salsa; started with this recipe:
https://blackberrybabe.com/2016/04/15/smoky-grilled-salsa-chevys-knock-off/ but used canned tomatoes which we drained before roasting. It was pretty good. Needed more lime and less cumin.
Dessert: A See’s candy

Monday I ate

Breakfast: Yogurt & granola
Lunch: Leftover Zachary’s stuffed spinach and mushroom pizza
Afternoon snack: Iced tea. Some TJ’s peppermints
Dinner: Chicken enchiladas
Dessert: Chocolate milkshake! Tessa has been wanting to make the best chocolate shake ever and I think we’re close. It was worth it to whip up a batch of hot fudge, just to put these over the top.

450 g Dryers chocolate ice cream
150 g whole milk
some (~50g) hot fudge… it was almost too thick, but once it poured into the glass, it was perfect

Bears: The @greenhousebears still skating. It was such a great one, we hated to take it down

Breakfast: Cinnamon-raisin toast with peanut butter
Lunch: Taco with leftover tri-tip
Afternoon snack: TJ’s peppermints. Iced tea
Dinner: First dinner out since quarantine! Went to Fleming’s in Palo Alto with Grandpa John and Therese. Sat at separate tables and yelled at each other. Had wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon. Brussels sprouts. Broiled lobster with butter. OMG it was so good and really fun.
Dessert: Suzanne and I split a key lime pie. Eliza had a molten lava cake which she needed help with. Tessa had a chocolate honeycomb cake.
