Dinner: Pizza, antipasto, and ceasar salad from Tommaso’s in North Beach. One of Tim’s favorite pizza places. We rolled in there with a whole bunch of kids and took the center table and had a great time.
Dessert: Gelato from Naia in North Beach. I had a chocolate, peppermint patti, and strawberry chocolate combo. Awesome.
Breakfast: Granola, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: Salted peanuts and a few pieces of cheese
Lunch: Ham sandwich with avocado
Afternoon snack: Gelato from Zia’s in El Dorado Hills. I had a Blackberry Lemonade / Dark chocolate-cherry. A really fabulous combination. Also, iced tea.
Dinner: Family style Chinese food at Great Wall in Lafayette. OK, but definitely uninspired… could use a lot more spice and even flavor.
Dessert: See’s Candy
This marks quite a milestone in Dish Digest… today wraps up the first year of this project. It started out as a simple way to remember where we found a particular recipe, but it’s become a great way to think about what I eat, where I’ve been, and just how often “chocolate” appears in my tag cloud.
Lunch: Chicken and cucumber on pita with hummus
Afternoon snack: chocolate chips
Dinner: Timpano. This was a freakin’ amazing meal that our friends have been making regularly for 15 years. I think they got the idea from watching this move, Big Night. Essentially, it’s a baked ziti in a pie crust, and it was amazing. Also a green salad.
Dinner #2: Timpano. Apparently, seconds were required.
Dessert: Chocolate and raspberry gelato.
Breakfast: Donuts from Happy Donuts. Not the one on San Pablo near Gilman, but the one on Gilman near San Pablo. Just in case there is any confusion. This one is way better. Of all the donut shops in this part of town, it has the darkest chocolate icing. Nice folks, too.
Lunch: Leftover Mac&Cheese
Afternoon snack: Straciatella gelato from Caravaggio in Berkeley
Dinner: Ribs and potato salad at friend’s house. Delicious!
Dessert: Next iteration of the banana blondies with panuche frosting. This time with chocolate bars inside.
