Sunday I ate

Breakfast: Made lemon scones. Basically, the recipe here, but without raspberries. Tessa couldn’t decide on lemon or vanilla glaze, so we made both.
Lunch: Grilled salami and cheese sandwich


Afternoon snack: Hand Pie. Some chocolate chips. Iced Tea
Dinner: Pulled pork. Tried a combination of sous vide and smoker based on Serious Eats. The texture and moisture of the meat was awesome, but it didn’t really pick up much smoke flavor. I used the gas grill with wood chips over the lighted burner on one end and the meat at the other end. Kept the grill temp around 280F. Wood just smoked for a few minutes, then went out. Next time (and there will be a next time for this technique) I’ll try the electric smoker. Two hours smoking. Also made the usual BBQ sauce from APL (Serious BBQ). Suzanne made sweet potato rolls and an awesome vinegar slaw.


Dessert: Vanilla cream pie.

THURSDAY I ATE

Breakfast: English muffin with cream cheese and strawberries
Morning Snack: experimental Blueberry Muffins
Lunch: Little chicken and beef sandwiches at a conference. Also chocolate chip cookie
Afternoon snack: Coke zero
Dinner: Leftover enchiladas, rice and beans
Dessert: Ice cream (cookie dough and thin mint) with hot fudge

FRIDAY I ATE

Breakfast: Muffin with cream cheese and berries
Lunch: Cheeseburger and fries from Melt. Hippie soda.
Afternoon snack: Cupcake from Cupcakn in Berkeley. Got the day old one, and it was sensational.
Dinner: Leftover beef stew and some pizza and watermellon (picnic in the park)
Dessert: Another batch of experimental cupcakes. And then another one, because, you know.

Afternoon snack: Moon pie cookie from the farmer’s market. Coke zero
Dinner: Beef stew. Green salad.
Dessert: Experimental yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting

Breakfast: English muffin with butter and jam
Morning Snack: Apple
Lunch: Turkey sandwich with brie
Afternoon snack: Iced tea. Coke zero.
Dinner: Noodle cake with bruschetta. Green salad
Dessert: Experimental yellow cupcakes with amazing chocolate frosting, basically a whipped ganache (1:1 chocolate to cream, melted, cooled slightly, and whipped)

Morning Snack: Hot tea
Lunch: Peanut butter, bacon, banana and honey sandwich. Buffalo Bleu chips. Also a chocolate chip cookie.
Afternoon snack: Coke zero. Some caramel corn
Dinner: Experimental egg cups with tomato. Green salad
Dessert: Leftover cupcakes

Morning Snack: Hot tea
Lunch: Burrito from the food court at UCSF… pretty decent meat, but the salsa sucked. Coke zero
Afternoon snack: Diet coke
Dinner: Slice of pepperoni pizza at Costco. Several samples the Vitamix guy was blending up
Dessert: Experimental chocolate cupcakes

Lunch: Mac&Cheese, ribs, salad. Diet coke (lunch meeting)
Afternoon snack: Mocha Frappuccino (last day of the happy hour pricing)
Dinner: Heavy appetizers at work party.
Dessert: Experimental chocolate cupcakes.

Morning Snack: Apple
Lunch: Turkey and havarti sandwich. Green salad. Oatmeal raisin cookie (conference food)
Afternoon snack: Iced tea. Some nuts. (it was a conference about diabetes, which means the snacks kinda sucked)
Dinner: Genova raviolis with meat sauce. Green salad.
Dessert: Experimental chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting.

Morning Snack: Let’s see… it was “Administrative staff appreciation day” so we had waffles, with strawberries and cool whip, bacon, quiche, and a mimosa
Lunch: A chicken sandwich with avocado. Also added some bacon left over from breakfast. Buffalo bleu chips
Afternoon snack: Coke zero. Some TJ’s peanut butter cups
Dinner: Leftover tacos
Dessert: Experimental chocolate cupcakes
