MONDAY I ATE

Labor Day
Breakfast: Granola, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: Small slice of pizza
Lunch: Split a thai chicken crepe and a ceasar salad at the Crepevine. I think this place is OK, but nothing more than that. The flavors are fairly bland, and the service is pretty bad. This is the second time that they’ve forgotten one of the kid’s orders. Iced tea.
Afternoon snack: York peppermint patties. Leftover from Easter.
Dinner: Leftover Zacchary’s pizza
Dessert: Tessa mint chocolate cupcake

SATURDAY I ATE

Morning Snack: Flatbread with hummus
Lunch: Flatbread wrap with pre-cooked steak from TJ’s, gorgonzola, hummus. Leftover cupcakes from the 5th grade graduation yesterday. Not that we have 5th grader, but somehow we got roped into helping with 5th grade graduation and got a stack of cupcakes in exchange
Afternoon snack: Cupcake. These things are really gross, with bright blue frosting, but we have lots
Dinner: Zacchary’s pizza, green salad
Dessert: Experimental chocolate cherry cake

DAY I ATE

Breakfast: Granola, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: A few small pastries (and a piece of pizza) at bike-to-work-day stations.
Lunch: Turkey cranberry sandwich from Cafe Gabriela in Oakland. It was pretty good, but small. I think the mayo was house-made; really tasty. I would order the sopressata sandwich next time, or the pulled pork. The trouble, though, is that they all are on a baguette, which means biting it will send the filling out the other side.
Afternoon snack: Cupcakes from Cupcake Love in Oakland. Brought in for someone’s birthday. Had little bites of each and all very tasty.

Dinner: Pork tenderloin, the backyard bbq recipe from Sarah Foster. Also some corn pancakes with a lime cilantro sour cream sauce. Amazing.
Dessert: Chocolate chip cookies with some ice cream.

Afternoon snack: Mint M&M’s, half a chocolate-chip cookie, coke zero.
Dinner: Leftover corned beef with roasted vegetables
Dessert: S’mores cupcake from the food trucks. Also the last piece of angel food cake, because it just wasn’t going to be good tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY I ATE:

Breakfast: Forgot

LunchMolcajete (1734 Webster st. Oakland, CA). Great Mexican food. Much more than a quick burrito, this was quite impressively flavorful. That sort of deep flavor where several chews into a bit you realize there is the hint of another spice you didn’t notice earlier. The burrito was small, but incredible.  I was a bit surprised how full I got, actually…

Afternoon snack: Dulce de Leche cake, thanks to Eve. This was one of those delectable bombs that, combined with a burrito, made me mighty sleepy.

dulce de leche cake

Dinner: Very small spinach salad. See above.

Dessert: Salted caramel cupcake from the Virginia Bakery. Leftover from the last girl scout meeting.
