SATURDAY I ATE

Breakfast: Granola, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: Donut holes. Aren’t pro hardware stores great?!
Lunch: A great selection of food at a 7 year old birthday party. There were some little meat pies with some Brazillian name, skewers of meat, fabulous guacamole. I should hang out in the park more often.
Afternoon snack: brownies.
Dinner: Went to The Cooperage in Lafayette. Split a brussels sprout and bacon salad (there was a poached egg involved, but not in my half of the split). Then, because they brought the kids margaritas instead of lemonade (without booze, but makes a funnier story to ignore that detail), they brought out a plate of their skillet Mac&Cheese. Seriously, I might head over there just to eat this dish on a cold night; it was in the running for the best Mac&Cheese ever. For our entre, we split the prime rib.
Dessert: We had a selection, including an individual s’mores skillet, a selection of doughnuts, and selection of ice cream sandwiches. The best was probably the chocolate cookie-coffee ice cream sandwich, though the s’mores skillet was fabulous as well.

All in all, a great meal. Last time I ate there, I had the burger, which was fine, but didn’t really differentiate the food. This meal was pretty impressive.

SATURDAY I ATE

Breakfast: Granola, cranberry juice

Afternoon snack: See above. Still feeling it.
Dinner: Vegetable platter, bread and cheese, salad
Dessert: Leftover chocolate raspberry bundt cake

FRIDDAY I ATE

Breakfast: Grapenuts, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: Apple
Lunch: Falafel sandwich at Liba Falafel in Oakland. This place was amazing, though quite pricey. The falafel is good, but the best part is the condiment bar. The one challenge is getting enough of the good stuff into the pita. The owner recommended smashing the falafel, then opening it up to squeeze more in. Others just get the salad so you can dump stuff on top. Either way, it’s tasty.
Afternoon snack: Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups. Coke Zero.
Dinner: Barney’s burger. Split a Western bacon burger and fries
Dessert: Hot cocoa because of the cold walk home.

THURSDAY I ATE

Breakfast: Grapenuts, cranberry juice
Morning Snack: Apple
Lunch: Leftover Mac&Cheese
Afternoon snack: M&M’s, coke zero
Dinner: Burger and fries at Boss Burger, a new place in Albany. It’s got a little hole-in-the-wall feel, though it’s clean and hipster. The burger was truly exceptional. Not too big, lots of flavor, great meat. The fries were not to my loving, though they were pretty good. I feel like fries should be skinny to maximize the fried part to the pasty potato inside… these were a little on the wide side. Still, this place is bound to be a favorite.
